Cusco Comes to an End

The past few days have been packed with amazing Cusco sights and sounds. On Sunday we exchanged our money and tackled the enormous Mercado Artesenal. After a few hours of searching and haggling we came out victorious with our purchases!  After the market we relaxed while watching a live performance of traditional Peruvian dances. The costumes were very unique and the traditional huaymo music was flawless!

Today is our last day of Spanish class! We will miss our great instructors who have helped us refresh our Spanish and prepare us for the rest of our trip. They have planned a special trip to a local kindergarden today where we can put our Spanish to the test. There well be a lot of games and songs and plenty of pictures!

Yesterday was our first Magical Mystery Tour (MMT) in the beautiful area of San Blas.  We were divided into two groups and given a list of interesting facts and objects we had to find. We met many helpful and funny locals who were more than happy to help out, despite the language barriers!  After a long day we came home to a delicious meal prepared by our host mother Luchi and spent some good quality time playing ridiculous games with the group and Luchi´´s youngest son Luis. We are sad to say goodbye to Cusco and our host family tomorrow but excited for the adventure to come in Almeria!!!
